Bingo has been played in many forms over the years, but the two most popular these days are the American 75 ball and the very British 90 Ball Bingo. Online bingo sites often offer both for variety, as 75 Ball bingo is a nice variation allowing games to be played across specific patterns, while most Brits are familiar with the 90 Ball Variety.

90 Ball Bingo “cards” or “tickets” have 3 rows and 9 columns making a grid. In each horizontal row there are 9 boxes containing 5 random non repeating numbers from 1to 90 and 4 blank ones. You need to mark off all 5 numbers in a row to win anything.

A “strip” of tickets will consist of 6 and will always have all the numbers from 1 to 90 present in a random order. This means you will always need to “daub” or mark off a number each Bingo call, so you need to listen!

You can buy up to 8 strips of tickets at the start of each Bingo game, meaning you will have to mark off each number 8 times per Bingo call. This offers you statistically more chance of winning, but you will have to be 8 times as vigilant, and be fast with your dauber!

There are three ways to win and call Bingo; Mark off one row before anyone else and you have “one line”. The game then continues and the first player to mark off another horizontal row wins “two line” the game continues until somebody gets “Full House” on one ticket.

Full house is generally the maximum prize, but there are plenty of variations in the games to make games more interesting depending on which online Bingo site you choose to play on.

75 ball bingo cards are made up of a square grid with five rows and five columns marked out with B I N G O across the top, so it’s really easy to see that you again need to achieve a whole crossed out horizontal line to win. There are no spaces in the grid this time, but you still need to cross out 5 numbers in a horizontal row.

Now you only need 3 cards to possess all 75 numbers, but the prices for a card will probably adjust accordingly varying on each online Bingo site.

In 75 Ball bingo however, because of the grid shaped nature of the card, alongside winning one line, two lines and a “full house” You can also win prizes on “patterns” in the bingo card which could be a cross or a letter. The patterns are decided by the Bingo site or Chat Master(CM), patterns can be topical at Christmas you may win on a tree pattern!

A “coverall” game is like “full house” when the jackpot can only be won by marking off all the numbers on one bingo card before anyone else. The jackpots are generally high and could change your life dramatically if you win as huge cash prizes are involved.

In both games “full houses” or “coveralls” can be played across a network of Bingo clubs or online sites – if you are the first to claim full house in the entire network, astronomical cash wins are to be won.

Progressive Jackpots can make a Bingo game even more interesting. As well as racing against other players to hit a row or a full house, the Jackpot decreases every time the Bingo caller calls a number out. “Decreases” sounds bad but it can make the game really exciting and often the jackpots some of the best available. E.g. you could win £1 Million on one site if you get “house” in under 17 calls!
